FTW! Friday's the Win!! FTW!

FTW or Friday's the Win!  Is going to be a recurring theme every Friday.  Basically since everyone looks forward to Friday's arrival each week I figured it'd be a good time to share with everyone here at Geek Faerie what made your week filled with extra awesomeness!  Maybe you finally got your hands on that elusive first run graphic novel.  Or maybe you've completed an epic quest in your RPG.  Or maybe it was something as simple as finding a Wonder Woman Comfy Throw with Sleeves to keep you warm on those long nights catching up with your DVR or playing video games.  Whatever it is that made your week tell us all about it here.

For me my week was made complete by this week's episode of the The Big Bang Theory.  I'm really glad that more female Geek characters are joining the cast.  Don't get me wrong I love Penny cause she tickles my girlie side but it's fun to see an anti social Geek character like Amy coming on board and the return of Bernadette who strikes a lovely balance between both girls.  I can't wait for more plots lines involving all 3 girls to unfold.  And of course this week's episode also had an appearance by Sheldon's nemesis Wil Wheaton!  Who doesn't love that?

I love Big Bang Theory despite the problems it has... I can't wait to see this season. I don't have TV so I buy the DVD sets when they come out. When I went to Gen Con someone asked Wil Wheaton who the nerdiest person on the show was and he said it was actually the actress who plays Penny. She's a huge Harry Potter (books and movie) fan and loves fantasy in general. Wheaton said they had some nice talks on the set.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise Part 1 Review

After 3 seasons of following the adventures of Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph across the four kingdoms of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, fans will finally get to see what happens after the series ends.  In Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise Part 1 , we pick up immediately after the end of the series to find our heroes along side Fire King Zuko and Earth King Kuei deciding how best to handle the removal of the Fire Nation colonies.  It's decided that The Harmony Restoration Movement, named by Sokka of course, will uproot and move all the Fire Nation colonists back to their homeland in the Fire nation and out of the Earth Nation territory.  A fine idea to be sure but it's soon realized some things are not as easy as they seem and Aang must learn if he can bring peace to the Movement as well as keep a difficult promise to a friend. The book contains the usual hi jinks of course, coupled with the its ability to tackle big social and economic issues much like the show did.
