Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Beach and Pool Season is almost upon us, along with humid hot weather and mosquito season...but we are not here to talk about that.  No we are here to talk about the fabulousity that is Stila's new Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liners.  And sparklie they are indeed.

Top to Bottom: Flash, Electric, Royal, and Rock Candy

Yummy yum yum yum!  Delicious colors with the perfect amount of sparkle and staying power like no one's business.  I snagged four in Flash, Electric, Royal, and Rock Candy.

Left to Right: Flash, Electric, Royal, and Rock Candy

Flash is a lovely green sparkle in a chocolate base, reminds me of a dragonfly's wing.  Electric is a bright turquoise and teal sparkle, very mermaid tail.  Royal is a beautiful deep purple with a blue/purple sparkle, it reminds me of Amethyst.  Rock Candy is a rusty brown with deep red/brown sparkle, it reminds me of dew kissed earth as the morning sun rises.

Used with or without a base these lasted all day and never lost any of their depth or sparkle.  Electric did stain the skin a tiny bit but a few washes with soap and water after make-up removal took care of that.  I have not tested these in chlorine or salt water as of yet, our pool isn't open and the season is still a bit too cold here for swimming in the ocean.  I feel confident these will stand up to the test though and look rocking with plenty of waterproof mascara!

Now there was some question around the blogosphere with these liners being similar to MAC's Superslick Liquid Eye Liners.  I happen to own 3 of those and took the time to compare MAC's Marked for Glamour against Stila's Flash.

MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in Marked for Glamour
vs Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Flash
The packaging is identical to my eye.  As well as the foam applicator tip.

Left is Mac
Right is Stila
Beyond the obvious difference that Stila is loaded with sparkle and MAC is slightly shimmery I did note that the consistency of each was different.  MAC felt thicker while Stila felt a bit watery.  With MAC I could get a good solid line in one stroke.  Stila needed a second pass, except in the case of Electric which went opaque with one.  Both gave a nice line, drying times were about the same, and both lasted a long time.  Another difference I noted was in removal.  MAC seemed to come off in a series of large and smaller ball chunks that stung my eyes and I was still finding the next day when I washed my face.  Stila rolled off in small ball chunks as well but stayed on the make-up removing wipe and did not sting my eyes.

I think Stila's liners are perfect, they come in a wide variety of shades to match any one's tastes and in shades perfect for work or play.  I might even rock Electric on casual Friday for work.

What color eyeliner are you rocking right now?
